Miami Emerging Arts Leaders. Cultural Tourism in Miami: What Every Emerging Arts Leader Should Know.

Networking has long been considered crucial to the professional development of emerging arts leaders. Connecting with other cultural leaders leads to new ideas, collaborations, and, sometimes, employment opportunities. Now that we spend our days on Zoom - without traditional and critically important relationship-building opportunities - how do we effectively connect with each other? How do we meet other cultural professionals? And most importantly, how do we build our own network of helpful contacts?

Join us on Friday, December 18th at 10 AM to sharpen your networking skills with Miami’s own cultural guru, George Neary. George will present his own time-tested strategies for building a successful network of professional colleagues and creating meaningful connections with other cultural and business leaders, even in virtual settings. As a bonus, George will also share his list of “Miami Secrets Every Arts Leader Should Know!”

George served as Associate Vice President for Cultural Tourism for the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau for 20 years and, prior to that, as Executive Director of the Miami Design Preservation League of Miami Beach. Miami Famous since 1992, George owns and operates Tours “r” Us, specializing in curated tours of historic communities including the Art Deco District on Miami Beach; MiMo resort architecture; Wynwood; Miami Design District; Little Havana; Little Haiti; Downtown Miami; Historic Overtown; and Coconut Grove.

Modeled after a successful emerging leader program initiated in 1999 by Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts in America, the Miami Emerging Arts Leaders provides networking and resource sharing opportunities to encourage
diverse, young/new arts administrators to explore professional development issues and opportunities. Find out about upcoming events by subscribing to the email newsletter: www.miamidadearts.org.
