Dear Cultural Colleagues:

The Miami-Dade County Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the forecast track of Hurricane Irma, which is currently a Category 5 hurricane. We are preparing for possible severe weather conditions, currently anticipated to begin as early as late Friday and to remain in effect throughout this weekend.

County offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.  In addition, the Department’s facilities – the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center, Miami-Dade County Auditorium and the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center – also will be closed beginning Thursday and through the weekend.  We do not know at this time when our offices and cultural facilities will re-open.

Below are some resources for artists and arts organizations. Please continue to be vigilant in monitoring storm updates (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Hurricane Center: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov).

Stay safe!

Sincerely,

Michael Spring
